Israel’s military spending
has reached alarming levels, with a financial burden that is becoming increasingly unsustainable for the state budget.
According to an analysis published by The Economic Times, the war in Gaza alone has already surpassed the $67 billion mark, while the new conflict with Iran is costing Israel between $725 million and $735 million per day.
These figures are also supported by other reports from Reuters and The Guardian, which cite Israeli economic sources such as Calcalist. According to them, the cost includes both direct war expenses as well as losses in revenue and civilian support — but it still does not reflect the full indirect consequences, such as declining productivity and disruptions in supply chains.
According to a report from Ynet News, just the first 48 hours of the offensive against Iran cost $1.45 billion.
Currently, fuel and ammunition for military aircraft alone are costing Israel over $300 million daily, while the mobilization of reservists is causing significant losses to the civilian economy.
