Iranian officials gave Qatar prior notice of a missile strike before launching rockets toward a U.S. military base in the country, according to a source familiar with the matter, CNN reports.
The coordination was reportedly intended to minimize casualties, the source said.
A U.S. official told CNN that they are not aware of any injuries or fatalities from the reported strike on Al Udeid Air Base.
Qatar’s Ministry of Defense stated on Monday that its air defenses intercepted an Iranian missile targeting the airbase.
